Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov Condemns Attack

On August 18, 2023, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operated by the Russian company Enterprise was attacked in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, causing significant damage to the aircraft.

The attack, which is being investigated by Russian authorities, occurred at around 10:30 AM local time near the Ufa International Airport. According to preliminary reports, the UAV was targeted by a shoulder-fired missile, causing it to crash in a nearby field.

Head of Bashkortostan condemns attack

Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, strongly condemned the attack, calling it a "heinous act of terrorism." He vowed to find and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

"This attack is a direct threat to our national security," Khabirov said. "We will not tolerate such acts of violence against our citizens or our property."

The attack on the Enterprise UAV is the latest in a series of incidents involving unmanned aircraft in Russia. In recent months, there have been several reported cases of Ukrainian drones being used to attack Russian targets.

It is unclear at this time if the attack on the Enterprise UAV was carried out by Ukrainian forces or by domestic actors. Russian authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and have not yet released any further details.
