Dynamo Minsk goalie Andrei Kareev hints at a possible return
Will he return to the main team?
Dynamo's Andrei Kareev hinted at his possible return to the main team with a recent statement.
Kareev, who has been playing with Dynamo's affiliate team in the VHL, Dynamo Molodechno, since the beginning of the 2022-23 season, said in an interview with the Belarusian news agency BelTA that he is "ready to play for the main team again".
The 28-year-old goaltender has not played for Dynamo Minsk in the KHL since the 2020-21 season. He was loaned to Molodechno at the start of last season and has been playing there ever since.
Kareev's statement comes at a time when Dynamo Minsk is struggling in the KHL. The team is currently in last place in the Western Conference with a record of 13-26-5.
Dynamo Minsk has allowed the most goals in the KHL this season, with 155 goals allowed in 44 games.
Kareev's return could provide a much-needed boost for Dynamo Minsk. The goaltender has a career save percentage of .921 in the KHL.
It is not yet clear if Kareev will be recalled to the main team immediately. However, his statement suggests that he is ready to return to the KHL.
