Israel to Expand Military, Establish New Division, and Increase Reserve Forces
IDF to Grow in Size, Bolstering National Security
New Measures Aim to Enhance Israel's Defense Capabilities Amid Regional Challenges
In a significant move to strengthen Israel's military capabilities, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced plans to expand its ranks, establish a new division, and increase the number of reserve forces.
According to the IDF, the expansion will involve the creation of a new division dedicated to the southern region of Israel, a crucial area bordering the Gaza Strip. The new division will enhance the IDF's ability to respond to threats emanating from the south and provide additional protection for border communities.
In addition to the new division, the IDF plans to increase its reserve forces by 14,000 soldiers, bringing the total number to 180,000. Reserve forces play a vital role in supplementing the IDF's regular forces during wartime or other emergencies, providing additional manpower and specialized expertise.
