TAAS: German and French citizens detained at Baikonur after attempting to photograph a rocket

Baikonur cosmodrome security officers detained two foreign nationals, a citizen of Germany and a citizen of France, who were trying to take pictures of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle on Tuesday, June 13, a source in the Russian space industry told TASS.

The detainees were handed over to the police

"The foreigners were detained and taken to the police station. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified," the source said.

No official statement from law enforcement

The incident was confirmed at the press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Kyzylorda Region, but a source reported that the police refused to comment on it.
