Over 200 Municipal Roads in Moscow Region Repaired Based on Residents' Choice
Moscow Region, Russia
September 15, 2023
More than 200 municipal roads in the Moscow region have been repaired based on the choice of residents, the regional government said in a statement.
The repairs were carried out under the Our Roads national project, which aims to improve the quality of roads across Russia. Residents were able to vote online for the roads they wanted to see repaired, and the most popular roads were included in the repair plan.
The repairs included resurfacing, drainage improvements, and the installation of new street lighting. The work was carried out by contractors who were selected through a competitive bidding process.
The regional government said that the repairs have improved the quality of life for residents and made the roads safer and more comfortable to drive on.
The Our Roads national project was launched in 2019 and aims to repair and build over 5,000 km of roads across Russia by 2024. The project is funded by the federal and regional governments, as well as by private investors.
The project has been praised by residents and experts alike, and has been credited with improving the quality of roads across the country.
