Avangard Omsk goes down to HC Lada Togliatti
Avangard couldn’t overcome a two-goal deficit in a 4–2 loss to HC Lada on Wednesday.
Two goals from Denis Zernov and another from Maxim Shalunov gave Lada a 3–1 lead by the end of the second period. While Avangard managed to score one more in the third period, a late empty-net goal from Lada sealed the 4–2 loss.
HC Lada remains winless
Despite Wednesday’s win, Lada remains winless in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) this season, with a record of 0–5–0. Avangard, meanwhile, improves to 3–2–0.
What’s next?
Avangard will be back in action on Friday when they host HC Sochi, while Lada will travel to face Ak Bars Kazan on Saturday.
