Al-Ittihad edge Al-Ahli to join Al-Hilal at the top

Al-Ittihad edged Al-Ahli 1-0 on Monday to move level on points with leaders Al-Hilal at the top of the Saudi Pro League.

The only goal of the game came in the 75th minute when Abderrazak Hamdallah converted a penalty after Al-Ahli goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais brought down Romarinho.

The win was Al-Ittihad's first over Al-Ahli since 2019 and moved them up to 40 points from 18 games, level with Al-Hilal who have a game in hand.

Al-Ahli remain in third place on 37 points from 18 games.

The win will boost Al-Ittihad's hopes of winning their first league title since 2009.

They will be looking to continue their good form when they face Al-Batin in their next game on Friday.
